Indoor vs Outdoor Cycling

Posted by Lauren Doyle on 28-Feb-2022 14:14:16

According to figures produced by Secretary for Transport, Grant Shapps, UK cycling increased by 200% during the first Covid-19 lockdown. How Cycling to Work Helps the Environment

Posted by Lauren Doyle on 01-Feb-2022 15:43:58

With the icecaps melting and sea levels rising, it’s important that every person begins to take responsibility for their own carbon footprint. Just a few months back at the COP26 conference in Glasgow, representatives from 196 countries met to discuss the current crisis and how best to reduce growing carbon omissions.

However, the planet doesn’t have time for us to sit back and wait. The Earth is currently 1.2c warmer than in the 19th century with carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere having risen by 50%. Every time you pop to the petrol station only makes this worse.

Obviously, we know that people can’t just start living off the land like primordial cave people but you can make small changes that help ease the strain on our environment.

One of the best, and healthiest, changes you can make for the world right now is (You guessed it!) to start cycling to work. That’s why we’ve put together a quick list of a few ways cycling can have a positive impact on the environment:

Bigger Better Bikes with Bike2Work Scheme

Posted by Aimee Radcliffe on 17-Jan-2020 16:50:51

We have some exciting news. The Government has recently updated the cycle to work scheme to encourage more people to commute to work by bike. This means the benefits of the scheme are now even better for both employees and employers. We’ve summarised some of the main points below and we’ve also produced a comprehensive guide to the changes that you can download below.

Bikes and cycling equipment of up to any value, including E-Bikes, can now be covered by the cycle to work scheme

A broader selection of cycling accessories, including anything that an individual needs to commute by bike, can now be covered by the cycle to work scheme

Employers now have more flexibility to structure their schemes and set their own limits on the cost of bikes and equipment for employees

For more information about the changes to the cycle to work scheme, you can download the guide below. It explains what all the changes are, what the benefits are for employees and employers and how you can set up a scheme in your workplace.
